Maximum Score - 11 Points


Question 1. Symbols 2 points total

Standard: The student will use symbols to represent the rabbit and the fox.
    Point Criteria:
  • Allow 1 point for each of the following:
    • Using a symbol for the rabbit's tracks
    • Using a symbol for the fox's tracks
  • If the student uses symbols other than the suggested X's and O's and does not provide a key, subtract one point.

Question 2. Drawing 7 points total

Standard: The student will include appropriate land marks and tracks in his/her diagram.

    Point Criteria:
  • Allow 1 point for each of the following:
    • Drawing the bush
    • Drawing the rock
    • Drawing the tree
    • Showing the rabbit tracks moving away from the bush
    • Showing the fox tracks moving away from the rock toward the rabbit tracks.
    • Stopping the rabbit tracks at the tree
    • Showing the fox tracks leaving the tree.

Question 3. Track Pattern 2 points total

Standard: The student will draw an appropriate trail of tracks in his/her diagram.

    Point Criteria:
  • Allow 2 points for showing an intermingling of rabbit and fox tracks on the way to the tree.
  • Allow 1 point if the student draws them parallel to each other.


Highest possible score - 11 points



This is a sample drawing to illustrate the event. It is not necessary for the student to draw the bush, rock, and tree in the same locations as the sample.
